Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is preparing a bid for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams
Rodgers has overseen the club’s title charge this season but is aware he desperately needs to strengthen at centre-back.
The 41-year-old is a big fan of Williams, who he worked with at Swansea, and is keen to lure him to Anfield.
Williams has impressed for the Swans since their promotion from the Championship in 2011 – guiding the club into Europe following their League Cup victory – and boss Garry Monk would be loath to lose the Wales international.
