There has been some reports emerge which have claimed Liverpool target Javier Mascherano has been given the green light to leave Barcelona.
The Argentine international joined Barca in 2010 and has become a big part of the Catalan side’s recent success, occupying a centre back role rather than his usual midfield position.
Mascherano is one of Tata Martino’s first names on the team-sheet, however, reports of a summer overhaul has seen the former Liverpool man linked with an exit.
And that has led Liverpool to be on alert for the mans signature, as they look to add a bit more bite to their squad.
Liverpool admire Mascherano’s workrate and battling nature and would like to add him to their midfield
And according to the SportsDirectNews website, due to Barcelona’s transfer ban being suspended by Fifa after an appeal was lodged by the club, the Catalan giants are free to register players this summer, meaning that they would be able to replace Mascherano.
