Liverpool in battle to land deadly assassin

Reports have claimed Attletico Madrid could look to sign Valencia youngster and Liverpool target Paco Alcacer to replace Diego Costa.

The 20-year-old striker has been something of a revelation in La Liga this season, forcing his way into the Valencia first-team and putting himself into contention for a place in Spain’s World Cup squad for this summer with some terrific performances.

Alcacer has 13 goals and three assists so far this season, despite not always being a starter, and he has recently started to catch the eye of several top European clubs ahead of the next transfer window.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have been among his admirers from the Premier League, while Serie A giants Juventus have also been linked with an interest in the player.

Still, he could remain in La Liga as Atletico ponder possible replacements upfront for star striker Costa, whose own phenomenal form this campaign has made him a top target for Chelsea this summer. (SportsDirectNews)

It will be interesting to see where he ends up
