Liverpool in Merseyside battle for unsettled Spaniard

Liverpool and Everton are battling to sign Atletico Madrid forward Adrian Lopez.

The Spaniard was linked with a move away from Atletico last summer after falling out of Diego Simeone’s plans and the same situation has seen him make just three La Liga starts this season.

He has scored just one goal but his season in 2011/2012 which saw him score 11 goals in 19 Europa League appearances has stayed in the mind of Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and Toffees boss Roberto Martinez.

That has led both to plan a summer swoop for the forward, as they both look to add a bit more fire-power to their squads, according to the SportsDirectNews website.
