Schalke general manager Horst Heldt insist there’s been no approach from Liverpool for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The 30-year-old, who is currently in Brazil with the Netherlands squad, has been linked with a move to Anfield.
Boss Brendan Rodgers is planning for life without Luis Suarez and Huntelaar has been on his shopping list of potential new recruits.
However, despite many reports claiming a move has been made, the Germans have been keen to play down talk.
“Most recently, I’ve read that Liverpool should have interest in Klaas-Jan Huntelaar,” Heldt told Schalke’s website.
“Liverpool, Klaas-Jan and also his adviser have not contacted us.
“And we also have no interest in selling the player.”
