Liverpool keen on £36 million target as contract stalling means Rodgers can get his man

There has been some reports which have claimed Liverpool are keen on Iker Muniain, but are unwilling to pay the £36million release clause.

The highly-rated young man is the subject of transfer talk after revelations came out that he is stalling on signing a new deal at Athletic Bilbao.

However, the Basque club still want to sign Muniain to a new contract that will see him remain at the club until at least 2018.

But the Daily Express website now claim Liverpool have a longstanding interest in the player, and until Muniain puts pen to paper on a new contract he can, in theory, be had for £36 million, if the Reds want to sign him up for that amount.
