Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been quoted a stunning £30million by Benfica for in-demand Lazar Markovic, according to the Daily Mirror website.
The young Serbian, who is rated as one of the best young strikers in the game, has been on the radar of Liverpool for some time as Rodgers looks to add even more fire-power to his squad.
Officials from the Reds have met with the player’s agents and they are willing to talk about a move to the Premier League in the summer.
The forward, 20, a long-term name on Liverpool’s wanted list, has developed since joining Benfica from Partizan Belgrade and is ideal for Rodgers.
Liverpool’s only stumbling block is the £30 million price tag, as many see that as a bit too much for a youngster.
