Liverpool to land Dutchman as summer clear-out means Rodgers to land bargain

Reports have claimed Barcelona attacker Ibrahim Afellay is likely to be casualties of Luis Enrique’s summer clear-out at the Nou Camp, opening the door for Liverpool to get a deal done, according to the TalkSport website.

With the retirement of long-serving centre-back Carles Puyol and the likely departures of Xavi and Victor Valdes, the new Barca boss is planning for the future and has deemed Bojan surplus to requirements in Spain.

And Afellay is on the summer list of players that are surplus-to-requirements, as he has failed to live upto expectations many had on his shoulders

And with the Reds looking to add this summer, they could make a move as he will be on the market for a cut-priced fee.
