Man City boss puts smiles on faces amid big summer talk

Manuel Pellegrini revealed last night he’ll block any move by Barcelona or Real Madrid to lure super-striker Sergio Aguero away from the Etihad this summer

Aguero’s impressive goal record of 73 in 114 games since his £38million move from Atletico Madrid in July 2011 has made him a top target.

Although Real Madrid have Cristiano Ronaldo and the world’s most expensive star Gareth Bale at a combined cost of £165m they would jump at the chance to sign Aguero.

But Pellegrini remains adamant Aguero won’t be sold on his watch.

“I don’t think the idea of Sergio is to leave Manchester City. When I speak with him he is very happy here.

“You never know what can happen in the future but with so many rumours about a lot of players every day, you can’t talk about all of them.

“For me he must stay here with us as we try to win more trophies, of course. He’s a very important player and I don’t think he’ll go anywhere.” (Daily Mirror)

Many will be happy with the bosses words
