Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has once again been linked with a big time summer swoop for Tottenham star Jan Vertonghen, according to the SportsDirectNews.
City are in need of a freshening up this summer and a few names have been chucked into the hat as Pellegrini looks to spend big.
Vertonghen joined Spurs from Ajax in 2012 and has gone on to prove himself as a top defender during his time at White Hart Lane, playing both at central defence and left-back.
The defender partners City aceVincent Kompany at the back for the Belgium national team and now Pellegrini is keen to bring him to the Etihad Stadium.
But with Nemanja Vidic heading out, Belgian star Vertonghen could be the man to come in and fill his boots
He may have missed a significant chunk of this season, but there can be no doubt that the Spurs defender is a class act.
That flexibility would make him a valuable asset to City.
