Man City set to sign up first summer deal

Manchester City are set to complete the signing of Porto midfielder Fernando, according to the Daily Star website.

City initially tried to sign the 26-year-old as part of a double-deal with defender Eliaquim Mangala back in January, but after failing to agree a fee with Porto, City have come back this summer to conclude a straight deal for Fernando.

The Brazilian-born midfielder is expected to fly into Manchester in the coming days to put pen to paper on the move.

Boss Manuel Pellegrini knows he could lose Yaya Toure this window and see’s Fernando as a great replacement.
