Man City to spend big for £16.5 million man

Manchester City are ready to splash out £16.5million on Sevilla defender Alberto Moreno

The 21-year-old is also being tracked by Real Madrid, claims newspaper El Confidencial, but the Blues are confident that their good relationship with the La Liga club could swing a deal in their favour.

They signed striker Alvaro Negredo and winger Jesus Navas from Sevilla last summer.

The article insists City manager Manuel Pellegrini and director of football Txiki Bergiristain are not convinced by their current senior left-backs, Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy, and a change needs to be made.

Clichy has lost his first-team spot to Kolarov since November and is widely expected to move on at the end of the season, leaving room for Spain international Moreno. (SportsDirectNews)

He could be a great buy for the club
