Dutch boss Louis Van Gaal has ended speculation about Antonio Valencia’s Manchester United future by handing him a new three-year deal, according to the Daily Express website.
Valencia had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford as new boss van Gaal re-vamped United’s squad.
However, Van Gaal views the winger as a key part of his plans and Ryan Giggs, van Gaal’s assistant, said: “I’m really pleased Antonio has signed a new contract. His contribution to the team since he joined the Club in 2009 has been fantastic.
“Antonio is a very powerful player with great speed and versatility. He is very professional in his approach to training and I am delighted he has committed his future to the Club”
