Man United boss to make ambitious move for one of Germany’s best

Manchester United have made Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng their top defensive target

The Bayern Munich centre-half, who can also operate as a full-back, endured an injury-hit season at the Etihad Stadium during the 2010-11 campaign before returning to his homeland with the Bavarian giants.

He has since established himself at club and international level courtesy of a string of impressive displays in which he showcased his pace and power at the heart of the backline, catching the eye of United scouts.

A source close to the Red Devils told FDN they are prepared to splash out a significant sum of money on the 25-year-old, who will still have four years remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season. (SportsDirectNews)

United are a massive club but Boateng is at arguably the best club in the world right now, so the red devils would need to offer something special to get a deal done
