Real Madrid have reportedly joined the race for Manchester United target Inigo Martinez.
According to Italian source Tutto Mercato Web, the Real Sociedad defender is on the wishlist of Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti, while United are also monitoring the situation with great interest.
The 23-year-old has established himself as a leading light in Spain and has more than three years remaining on his contract, meaning his suitors will have to come up with a generous offer to tempt his club into selling at the end of the season.
He has netted twice in 28 league appearances for Sociedad this term and was a stand-out performer for Spain in last year’s uefa European Under-21 Championships.
With skipper Nemanja Vidic definitely leaving United for Serie A outfit Inter Milan at the end of the campaign and fellow centre-half Rio Ferdinand yet to extend his contract at Old Trafford, boss David Moyes is anxious to bolster his backline. (SportsDirectNews)
