Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has given Louis van Gaal a big thumbs up, as the Holland boss edges closer to signing for the red devils.
Van Gaal is poised to replace the axed David Moyes in a bid to revive United’s fortunes.
The Dutchman is understood to have held talks with United chief executive Ed Woodward.
And Giggs, who will consider retiring from playing at the end of the season, reckons Van Gaal, 62, is a top-class manager with a proven track record.
As quoted on the Daily Star website, he said: “He’s got fantastic pedigree.
“He has got a brilliant reputation. He’s taken Holland to the World Cup and is a successful manager in different countries.”
