Man United move is for medals and not money states £33 million man

Luke Shaw claims he has joined Manchester United to win trophies after completing his record £33million move.

Shaw has become the most expensive teenager in world football, after an impressive stint at the Saints pretty much meant all the biggest clubs in Europe were looking to get a deal done.

However, Shaw, 18, chose United and has become an instant multi-millionaire, signing a four-year deal worth over £100,000-a-week, but insists he has moved to the Old Trafford giants for medals not for money.

As quoted on the Daily Mirror website, he said: “United are the biggest club in the world and will always be up there with the best.

“The main reason I came here was because they want to win trophies. I want to be winning trophies and coming to Manchester United, that’s the one thing they like to do.

“I want to continue to progress my career and joining United is the ideal place for me to do that. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and also looking forward to learning from the world-class players and management at the club.”
