Manchester United have been put on alert after Luiz Gustavo’s buy-out clause came into effect following Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup.
Gustavo left Bayern Munich for Wolfsburg at the start of last season in a bid to secure enough playing time to ensure his involvement at the tournament.
But the 26-year-old has made no secret of his desire to keep playing at the highest level of European football.
And the Red Devils have been linked with a big time swoop for some time now, as Louis Van Gaal sees him as the perfect defensive midfielder.
Now the Daily Express website have claimed Gustavo insisted that Wolfsburg include a release clause in his contract that will allow him to move to a big club if they came calling at any point.
