Manchester United are reportedly on alert after Barcelona made it known they were considering selling Alex Song and Dani Alves at the end of the season.
Barcelona’s willingness to part with Song is not unexpected but the Spanish club’s desire to offload Alves comes as more of a surprise.
Reports in Spain suggest that Barca are aware that now is the last chance to really cash in on the Brazilian defender as he enters the final year of his contract.
And that has alerted David Moyes, who has been linked with a move for Song all season, with some reports claiming he is readying an £8 million move
And with the right-back position a problem, Moyes may feel that a move for Alves could be a great bit of business
However, the Catalan club remains concerned that they may struggle to find a suitor for the 30-year-old given his substantial wage demands according to the Daily Express website and may keep hold until his contract runs down
