Reports have come out and revealed Manchester United target Esteban Cambiasso will be released by Inter Milan, the club have confirmed.
The 33-year-old Argentine leaves the San Siro after 10 successful years, including the historic 2010 treble-winning campaign.
United have been linked with a move since January, as they looked to add some more experience to their squad.
And it now seems they could head back in this summer, as the decision to let him leave has been made official after director of sport Piero Ausilio confirmed the news at a press conference on Saturday.
As quoted on the Daily Mirror website, he said: “I speak to Cambiasso every day in an informal manner, as he is a friend.
“Today there was a difficult moment between him and I, as we talked about the future. Due to reasons of strategy, renewal and an Inter for young players, he will not be confirmed in the squad.
“We will not propose a new contract”.
