Manchester United could make a surprise bid for Sunderland winger Adam Johnson.
The 26-year-old, formerly of United’s local rivals Manchester City, has only been at the Stadium of Light for two seasons, but could be one of the players who leaves the club if they are relegated at the end of this campaign.
The Black Cats currently lie in 19th place and face a battle to survive, despite some fine individual form from Johnson this year, which has also seen himattract interest from Liverpool.
The England international has nine goals and three assists in all competitions so far, and has shown some of the form that once made him one of the country’s most highly regarded young talents.
United are short of quality options in the wide areas at the moment, and could be set to let the likes of Nani and Ashley Young leave in the summer, with David Moyes keeping an eye on a number of potential replacements. (SportsDirectNews)
