Manchester United are interested in signing PSG’s Ivory Coast international, Serge Aurier, but are facing stiff competition for the defender’s signature.
Aurier has been solid for PSG since he moved to the capital city club some years back. He also did well to recover from a club ban that almost saw him leave the club last season.
Jose Mourinho is looking to sign a right-back this summer, and the strong, agile and athletic Aurier represents the type of defender the Portuguese manager likes to have in his team. However, the Red Devils are facing major competition from European giants, like Juventus.
The Italian champions who have been dominant in Italy for some years now are looking for Aurier to come in and replace Manchester City-bound Dani Alves. They believe their local dominance offers him a greater chance of winning trophies than Manchester United.
The defender is personally interested in moving to Spain with Barcelona, but new manager Ernesto Valverde has not shown any interest in him. Jose Mourinho is hoping that Eric Baily’s successful first campaign in England would convince Aurier to move to Old Trafford.
