Chelsea are ready to pounce for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the summer.
Rabiot, who was a target for the Blues in January, eventually stayed put after picking up a knee injury, but he is now back fit and is a key part of Laurent Blanc’s side.
But despite the French champions showing their belief in him by offering the player a new deal this week, he has rejected it – and a move away now looks likely.
The 18-year-old currently earns about £5,000-a-week at PSG, but L’Equipe reports that he is demanding a whopping £60,000-a-week in order to sign up, and Blanc is not willing to negotiate.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has dispatched several of his trusted aides to the Parc des Princes to check on the midfielder’s progress and he has been impressed.
It’s now thought that Chelsea will slap in a £8million offer when the window re-opens, with PSG facing little choice but to sell, with Rabiot not willing to alter his demands. (Metro)
The lad certainly has the talent to make an impact at Chelsea, but why would he join a team to be second choice or loaned out?
