Chelsea are among three clubs reportedly lining up a shock move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie in the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror website
The Dutchman’s future has been the subject of speculation of late after he revealed his unhappiness with his team-mates in the aftermath of United’s dismal defeat to Olympiacos in the Champions League last month.
And reports have claimed United are thought to be considering offloading the 30-year-old this summer as David Moyes continues his rebuilding at Old Trafford.
And Jose Mourinho is reportedly lining up a move, as he looks to land a striker that can find the back of the net on a regular basis.
Mourinho recently claimed that he ‘had no strikers’ and the Portuguese coach was thought to be lining up a move for Monaco’s Colombian international Radamel Falcao in the summer transfer window.
However, Van Persie would represent a cheaper option to those men and he is also a proven Premier League hitman.
