Arsenal’s squad are keen for manager Arsene Wenger to sign a new long-term contract, according to captain Thomas Vermaelen.
It is no secret that Wenger is out of contract at the end of the season and many reports have claimed he could leave, if he fails to land the club some silverware
However, Vermaelen said the Gunners squad are keen to continue working with the Frenchman, who insists there is no ‘uncertainty’ about his future.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, he said: “It’s incredible, not a lot of managers do that nowadays because they come in and out, so for him to achieve 1,000 games is something unbelievable.
“Everybody wants him to stay as long as he can.
“He’s been incredible with what he’s done for this club and for the players as well.”
