Manchester United have been told that they will need to stump up £16million to land Wesley Sneijder.
United have been heavily linked with the Dutchman for a while now, but have never actually made any kind of move to land him.
However, with Louis Van Gaal taking over after the World Cup, talk of a potential swoop has increased over the last few weeks.
But Galatasaray have no intention of letting him go on the cheap and have told United his £16 million clause will have to be met if a deal wants to be done.
A quoted on the Daily Express website, President Unal Aysal said: “Wesley Sneijder has a release clause set at €20m [£16m].
“Any team that give us that money and he wants to go, we can’t keep him.
“Legally speaking, we have no right.”
