Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain will cost a whopping £80 million this summer.
Higuain has been linked with Chelsea in recent times, as boss Jose Mourinho looks to add to his ever impressing attack.
However, Napoli do not want to lose their best striker and it seems that the Premier League giants would have to pay an astronomical fee to land the former Real Madrid man.
De Laurentiis was quoted on the Daily Express website, as saying: “Some of you wrote that I should’ve written a €70m (£55m) release clause into his contract.
“Well, I can tell you that last year when I signed Higuain’s contract there was a €100m (£80m) release clause.
“As you can see, the media are always misinformed. They dive into these stories and hypothesise, but do you really think that after 10 years running a club, someone who comes from cinema and produced more than 400 films doesn’t know how to write a player’s contract?
“Do you believe I am someone who doesn’t know how to negotiate a good deal?”
