Spanish goalkeeper and Espanyol ace Kiko Casilla has emphatically denied that he will leave the club at the end of the season to join Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old has just over a year left on his contract at Espanyol and is reportedly on Madrid’s wishlist, as they look to find a possible replacement for Diego Lopez or Iker Casillas, who have both been linked with a move to Manchester City
And they have identified the Espanyol man as a potential replacement, with many reports claiming Casilla had already informed his current employers that he will leave to join the giants.
However, that is not the case and the Spaniard has flat out denied the reports.
As quoted on the TalkSport website, he said: “I have not spoken to anyone at Espanyol so I could not tell you that I’m going or staying. I have not talked to anyone.”
The news will alert the likes of Manchester United, who are keen to add another quality stopper to the squad.
