Tottenham aim to do Man City deal as star edges towards exit signs

Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a free transfer move for Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry.

The aging star is seemingly done at the Etihad but has been impressive for Everton this season, with some of his performances even catching the eye of the England boss.

And although he is not in City boss Manuel Pellegrini’s plans, a source on the FootballDirectNews website has claimed Barry’s wealth of experience on the biggest stage appeals to Spurs technical director Franco Baldini, who is in charge of player recruitment, and head coach Tim Sherwood.

The 32-year-old comes to the end of his contract at the Etihad Stadium in June and will not receive an extension.
