Tottenham Hotspur plan to move for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini in the summer window.
Borini is currently on loan at Sunderland, having failed to nail down a regular spot in Brendan Rodgers’ title-chasing team.
The player’s compatriot Franco Baldini, who is in charge of player recruitment at White Hart Lane, has identified the forward as a useful addition to a squad which is severely short of options in the final third of the pitch.
England star Jermain Defoe was sold in January to MLS side Toronto FC, while £26million summer signing Roberto Soldado has been a flop since joining from La Liga side Valencia.
A source close to Spurs told FDN that Baldini would ideally like to add two strikers to the first-team picture when the summer transfer window opens, and he is awaiting feedback from Liverpool regarding Borini’s status on Merseyside. (SportsDirectNews)
