Tottenham are reported to be close to signing Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos who is determined to leave the Spanish giants for more regular first-team football
The 22-year old has been in high demand this summer with Arsenal, Tottenham and AC Milan all said to be keen on his services, however, it is the Champions League finalists that are said to be the clear front runners.
Apparently, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino had talked with Ceballos a few weeks ago and according to Spanish media outlet AS, he was assured he would play an important role with the North London side.
If Ceballos signs for Tottenham, then Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen could be on his way in the opposite direction to Los Blancos.
A fee of £50 Million has been mentioned and despite splashing out £70 Million for Tanguy Ndombele, it is an amount Tottenham can afford, especially if Eriksen is sold.
For his part, Ceballos has made it absolutely clear what he wants
“The next season will be my year I want to play, but it’s hard to play in Real Madrid My goal is to play in at least 40 matches ”
I will speak to the club after the U21 European Championship, there must be a harmony between the club, the coach and the player, “
