Wenger makes shock bid to land Brazilian’s top man for Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been monitoring Brazilian hitman Fred, who he sees as a possible new arrival this summer.

The Frenchman is short of options in attack and knows he must go out and spend to land a striker that will help out tiring Olivier Giroud.

Since Fred joined Brazilian side Fluminense from Lyon in 2009 he has gone on to make 96 appearances and score 62 goals, where he is the current captain.

And now the SportsDirectNews website claim Wenger has made a £7 million offer to try and bring him to England.

At 30-years old his experience would prove valuable to Arsenal, and could be useful competition for Giroud.
