Wenger makes ‘world-class striker’ his £34 million Arsenal priority

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is determined to continue his spending spree this summer.

It is no secret that the Gunners need to spend in the summer window, as they look to keep up with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea in the chase for some silverware.

The Frenchman has prioritised the signing of a world-class striker and a recognised defensive midfielder, while he would also like to strengthen his defence.

And top of his shopping list is Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, who is scoring freely at the Spanish giants and is Wenger’s preferred choice of forward according to the FootballDirectNews website.

He has hit an impressive 30 goals in all competitions and has an intriguing release clause of just £34 million, a price many see as an absolute bargain.

  1. Arsene Wenger is a good Manager but may be his time has gone and the more he sticks with the same frame of mind which was his 12 years ago the more the Club will be disillusioned. He needs to take some bold steps not just talking and refusing to spend. Many clubs in the Premier League cannot play the lovely football Arsenal plays but thee seems to be fear to face solid aggressive play and this is where they have to change their mentality. Against Chelsea , you just saw how much using the same players for every match had affected their capacity to react. Do it Wenger even before World Cup bring in some quality and back up.
