There has been some reports which have claimed Arsenal are eyeing up Gus Poyet’s son Diego.
The 18-year-old Charlton midfielder is out of contract in the summer and the north London giants are keen to nail down his signature.
Boss Arsene Wenger has had scouts keep an eye on him for most of the games he has played since his senior debut in an FA Cup tie at Oxford in January.
And feedback has obviously impressed him as he is keen to beat off London rivals Tottenham, according to the Daily Mirror website.
Should a deal be done, Charlton will receive compensation for the time Poyet spent at the club, but should it go to a tribunal then any initial payment is unlikely to top £500,000.
