Arsenal are lining up Real Madrid defender Fabio Fabio Coentrao.
A source close to the Gunners told FDN that boss Arsene Wenger is anxious to strengthen the left side of his backline and remains uncertain about the long-term future of Spaniard Nacho Monreal at the Emirates Stadium.
If he does arrive at the Emirates Stadium, Coentrao will be reunited with his former Real team-mate Mesut Ozil.
Monreal has tussled with team-mate Kieran Gibbs for a first-team spot this term but has not kicked on in his first full Premier League campaign and could be sacrificed at the end of the season.
The source said Coentrao has been on Wenger’s radar for some time and club spies have been monitoring developments in Madrid with interest, as the Portugal international has struggled to keep his place in the La Liga giants’ team. (SportsDirectNews)
